Restitution of the Work of the Digital Pathology Task Force of France Biotech

The restitution meeting of the Task Force's work in the presence of the contributors took place on June 5, 2024.

One year ago, France Biotech launched the Digital Pathology Task Force!

The aim was to bring together the entire industry: 130 pathologist contributors, industrialists, and institutional stakeholders were able to work together to define the challenges of a successful transition to digital pathology, encourage innovation and strengthen our industry with structuring and priority actions.

Transforming pathology with digital technology is crucial to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Pathologists, key players in the fight against cancer, must have access to the best digital tools and AI.

Among the priority actions mentioned:
  • Support and financially assist (public/private) establishments to accelerate the digital transformation of this vital sector.
  • Identify experimental funding, coverage, and evaluation methods for the multitude of innovative solutions in digital pathology.
  • Benefit from a state impetus to better address the interoperability and data standardization issues inherent to the digitization of the pathology industry.
  • Address the training needs and ethical considerations arising from the emergence of these new digital technologies.

All of this to improve patient care, but also to give ourselves the means to achieve our ambition to make France a leader in AI and ensure our mastery of the solutions used.
